Wine Tip of the Week - Bubbly, It's not Just for Celebrating Anymore!

Too often, we only turn to sparkling wine for special occasions like helping to wash down a disgustingly sweet wedding cake or to toast celebrate a major milestone or accomplishment.

If you are looking for a good wine to serve before a dinner, a dry sparkling wine is a fantastic  palate cleanser that also pairs nicely with a light weight appetizer or a light salad.  You also don't have to shell out big bucks for Champagne - there are great value Cavas from Spain, sparkling wines from California, and even some French Cremant sparkling wines that can be quite reasonable - and are made in the same manner as Champagne.  I am a big fan of Spanish wines to begin with - and when in doubt I will try Cava - very food friendly and typically under $20.  Next time, don't forget the bubbly!
