Weekly Wine Review - California Zinfandel - 2010 Ravenswood Dickerson Zinfandel

Summer + Burgers for Dinner + 20% off Total Wine & More coupon = A great bottle of Red Zinfandel.  That's my kind of math! Let's see if my calculation worked...

Wine: 2010 Ravenswood Dickerson Zinfandel - Single Vineyard
Region: Napa Valley
Grape Varieties: Zinfandel
Obtained from: Purchased at Total Wine & More
Price: $33 before coupon
Wino4Life Category: Weekend Wine
Aeration before tasting: Just a swirl or two, no special aeration.

Cork Condition: Natural cork - no defects or issues.
Appearance: Wine is clear, dark purl at the core with a pink rim.
Aroma: Wow! Dark fruit - blackberries and blueberries. Vanilla, spice, something a bit herbal.
Taste: Wow again! Nicely balance with big fruit flavors, nicely tannic, and a great finish.

The Grade: I give this one an A.  I have not been drinking much Zin lately - not for any particular reason it just happens sometimes. I need to think back if I've liked any other Zin as much as this wine, especially for just over $30 (less with coupon!).  This wine was a great pairing with a simple hamburger with some sautéed onions and a smokey ketchup.  The Total Wine coupon is good for a couple more days - so more of this wine for me!
