Weekly Wine Review - Australian Red Blend - 2011 Thorn-Clarke Terra Barossa Cuvée

My meanderings through some interesting red blend wines continues today with a Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Verdot team up from Australia. This winery also offers many single variety focused wines, so if this goes well then I may need to try some of those in the future.

Wine: 2011 Thorn-Clarke Terra Barossa Cuvée
Region: Barossa, Australia
Grape Varieties: Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot
Obtained from: Purchased at Total Wine & More
Price: $16
Wino4Life Category: Everyday Wine
Aeration before tasting: Just a swirl or two, no special aeration.
Cork Condition: Natural cork - no defects or issues.
Appearance: Clear, dark purple with a pink rim.
Aroma: Blackberries, cigar box, something a bit floral.
Taste: Big and fruity as you would except from the grapes used and from an Aussie wine. Nicely balanced with acid and tannins - big, but very drinkable now.
The Grade: I give this one an A. Another very nice blend for a very reasonable price.  I have had very good luck lately picking out some great value priced wines - especially blended wines. I only hope my luck continues!
