Weekly Wine Review - Australian Shiraz - 2011 Shingleback Winemaker's Series Shiraz

The temperatures dropped (slightly) in Arizona - all the way down to the 60s - so I wanted a big red wine to ease the impact of our winter!

Wine: 2011 Shingleback Winemaker's Series Shiraz
Region: McClaren Vale, Australia
Grape Varieties: Shiraz

Obtained from: Purchased at Total Wine & More
Price: $22
Wino4Life Category: Weekend Wine

Aeration before tasting: Just a swirl or two, no special aeration.
Cork Condition: Screw Top- no defects or issues.

Appearance: DARK, DARK purple with a red rim.
Aroma: Dark berries, vanilla, minerals, and some dried herbs and wood.
Taste: Lots of fruit, nice acidity, a touch of tannins, and a nice finish.
The Grade: I give this one a B+. Not a super complex wine, but very big, fruity and delicious. A nice wine for the price.
