Weekly Wine Review - Ontario Sparkling - 2012 Jackson Triggs Entourage Grand Reserve

Wino4Life wife celebrated an undisclosed milestone birthday this year.  One of the spots she wanted to visit during her birthday trip was Niagara Falls.  The Falls, especially in the cold of winter were quite beautiful, but the real highlight of the trip for me... was the Niagara area wines! We enjoyed several wonderful wines - including this sparkling wine made in the same classic method as French Champagne.
Wine: 2012 Jackson Triggs Entourage Grand Reserve

Region: Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada
Grape Varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir

Obtained from: Purchased at Great Estates of Niagara Wine Store - Niagara Falls, Ontario
Price: $18
Wino4Life Category: Everyday Wine

Aeration before tasting: Just a swirl or two, no special aeration.

Cork Condition: Natural cork - no defects or issues.
Appearance: Clear, straw in color.
Aroma: Apples, pear, biscuits, a touch of citrus.

Taste: Wonderful acidity with all the fruit and yeasty aromas also coming through on the palate.  Crisp, refreshing, with a fantastic finish.

The Grade: I give this one an A+.  For $18... are you kidding me? This easily tops $50+ sparkling wines I've had, with room to spare. Now the only question is how I can get some of this in Arizona!
